A Relaxing Family Friendly Event
Take as long or as little time as you like to Create your own
3D Hypsilophodon, Brachiosaurus, Neovenator Dinosaur or
Palaeo Sea Turtles, Sharks or Ammonites Models out of Colourful Card.
Chat about all things 'dinosaur' and discover interesting facts and snip bits along the way.
All guardians must be accompanied and supervised by their children and vice versa!
Ideally allow 1 hour to complete your
3D Dinosaur model or ½ hour for each
Palaeo Sea Creature models...but feel free to take as much time as you need!
Please bring refreshments.

Take as long or as little time as you like to create your very own painting of ancient ships which used to sail through the Solent.
Both Sessions
Suitable for all ages from 2 - 102+ years but we're age flexible!
All guardians must be accompanied and supervised by their children and vice versa!
Ideally allow 1 hour to complete each 3D
models...but feel free to take as much time as you need!

Ever wondered what it would be like to meet a real dinosaur?
Well now you can!
In June 2018 Scientists confirmed that all birds are dinosaurs!!
So now we will be studying the ins and outs of some living dinosaurs to find out how they have adapted to modern life by comparing the modern day Dino with it's 100 million year old Grandparent!

Join us for a free Dinosaur Museum Tour of the centre, led by our Resident Palaeontologist 'Oliver; followed by our Animated Mini-Movie Premiere, where we showcase our 2018's Explorers and visitors animations edited over the winter months to create...
'The Great Dinosaur Eggsplorer'
Update of projects and creative discussion on this year's Explorer activities.
Launch of Explorers Display and ‘Project Fossil Reconstruction’…
Reconstruction is needed on this museum artifact, which will be displayed in the Dinosaur Explorers Display Cabinet during reconstruction and after restoration for visitors to view Citizen Science in action.
Each month, dedicated time during Explorer sessions will be allocated so that Explorers can work on Project Fossil' developing fossil reconstruction skills, eye for detail and scientific conservation techniques in order to bring this artifact back to life!!

FAMILY FOSSIL FUN DAY
Dinosaur Expeditions are visiting

Come and join us at the Archaeology Discovery Centre at Fort Victoria
and take part in a family Creative Card Modelling Workshop and our all day
Dinosaur Animation Taster Workshops.
Or come on a Fossil Hunt to find Palaeo Sea Turtle Shell, Shark Teeth and even Crocodile Scutes on the fossil-rich beaches at Fort Victoria. The Hunt starts at 12:30 meeting outside the Archaeology Discovery Centre.

Join the Dinosaur Explorers in Newport at the POA Family Learning Festival!
We will be setting up the Dinosaur Animation Studio and the Fossil Hunters Table for visitors to have a go at animation or challenge their 'fossil hunting' skills - bring along your fossils for identification OR your favourite dinos to shoot your mini Dino Movie.
So come along and join us in the Citizen Science Zone and talk to one of our knowledgeable Dinosaur Explorers.
